Who We Are

A safe space for healing, growth, and change

Your Therapist

I’m Hassan, a fully qualified psychotherapist offering online therapy to clients in the UK and internationally. Alongside my private practice, I work with Relationships Scotland, one of the country’s largest providers of relationship counselling and family mediation, and I am also professionally based within the wellbeing environment of a leading Scottish university with international campuses. This keeps my work closely connected to education, research, and the evolving landscape of mental health and student wellbeing.

My work is shaped both by formal clinical training and by a long-standing interest in the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape people’s lives. I am particularly interested in how early relationships, family systems, attachment, shame, trauma, and unspoken emotional rules continue to influence how we relate, love, conflict, withdraw, or protect ourselves as adults.

I attend regular continuing professional development (CPD) training and engage in ongoing clinical supervision, not simply as a professional requirement, but because I believe that thoughtful, reflective, and ethically grounded practice is essential for meaningful therapeutic work. I also keep my caseload intentionally limited so that I can offer each client the time, care, and emotional presence that this work requires.

What I can help with

I work with individuals and couples who are navigating:

  • Anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, and burnout

  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions

  • Shame, secrecy, inner conflict, and self-worth struggles

  • Trauma and emotional wounds rooted in earlier relationships or family experiences

  • Identity questions, meaning, faith, and values

  • Relationship difficulties, including repeated conflict, emotional distance, and communication breakdowns

  • Trust ruptures such as infidelity, affairs, or breaches of trust (online or offline)

  • The impact of pornography or compulsive sexual behaviours on individuals and relationships

  • Family and in-law tensions, boundary difficulties, and enmeshment

Many people come to therapy at a point of crisis, rupture, or emotional exhaustion. Others come earlier, when something feels off, when closeness has faded, or when familiar difficulties keep repeating. Whatever brings you, my role is not to judge, fix, or take sides, but to help you understand what is happening beneath the surface with care, honesty, and depth

How I work

My approach is informed by psychodynamic and systemic ways of thinking. This means we pay attention not only to present difficulties, but also to their emotional, relational, and historical roots. Our work takes place within a collaborative, respectful, and confidential therapeutic space, where difficult feelings and conversations can be held more safely and where meaningful change can gradually emerge.

Alongside my clinical training, my academic background includes studies in Islamic Theology at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, followed by postgraduate work in Theology and Philosophy, and a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow. This combination allows me to work with sensitivity to questions of meaning, value, faith, identity, and conscience, alongside psychological understanding.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework.
